Compassionate, practical support that helps older persons live with dignity, connection and greater independence.
At Babirwa Old Age Centre, we provide services that support physical health, emotional wellbeing, independence and social connection. Our programmes respond to the everyday needs of older persons while helping them remain active, informed and valued within their community.
We provide a safe and respectful space where older persons can speak about grief, loneliness and personal challenges. Through emotional guidance and regular companionship, we help them feel heard, understood and connected to people who care.
We provide nutritious meals and practical nutrition guidance to older persons, including those who continue to live independently. This support encourages healthier eating habits, addresses food insecurity and helps beneficiaries maintain their strength and daily wellbeing.
Through regular home visits, we assist frail and vulnerable older persons with daily routines, practical needs and companionship. This service helps us identify concerns early while enabling beneficiaries to feel safer and better supported in their own homes.
Our recreational programme includes arts and crafts, music, games and gentle exercise suited to older persons. These activities encourage movement, creativity and enjoyment while providing regular opportunities to socialise, build friendships and remain actively involved.
We help older persons access appropriate healthcare through clinic referrals, physiotherapy arrangements and regular doctor visits. Our team also assists with health monitoring and follow-ups, helping beneficiaries receive the guidance and attention they need.
Dialogue circles provide a welcoming space where older persons can share memories, discuss concerns and learn from one another. These guided group conversations build confidence, reduce isolation and remind every participant that their voice and experiences matter.
Ageing well requires more than one kind of support. That is why our programmes care for physical, emotional and social wellbeing together.
By combining home visits, nutritious meals, health guidance, companionship and group activities, we help older persons remain connected and supported. We also assist them with reading and writing their names and accessing important community services.
Whether you donate, volunteer or partner with us, your involvement can help older persons receive consistent care, companionship, nutritious meals, health guidance and opportunities to remain active and connected.
Providing care, companionship and practical support that helps older persons live with dignity, remain connected and access important services.
